During may 2023, i participated in a study abroad title "Open Estudio" in Medellín, Colombia. The final Project required teams to create a form of Interactive art which encapsulated our experiences/interpretations of Colombia. My team decided to make a game called "A Crazy Ride en mi Moto en Medellín." The objective of the game is to drive through Medellín on a motorcycle and avoid objects in the road. The game ends once the player crashes. It is attempting to mimic the craziness of how motorcyclists drive in Medellín while paying tribute to the different places in the city. Additionally, we wanted our player to be an immersive experience, so we created a physical environment which mimicked parts of Medellin and related to our game (see photos). In the end, although I was unable to implement the crash mechanic, the game was interactive and paid tribute to Medellin in an artistic manner. we had two days to complete the project, therefore, it was difficult to implement all the gameplay mechanics. The final product was displayed in an art gallery open to the public.
